Chorizo skillet mussels

Spice up your love of shellfish with this spicy chorizo & mussels recipe. Inspired by the way the Spanish love to eat mussels, this recipe is perfect for those who aren’t afraid of flavor!


  • 4 oz Chorizo raw (uncased)
  • 1 Lbs Mussels
  • 1 Tbsp chopped shallots
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • ½ cup White wine
  • 4 Tbsp butter


  • Heat 1 ounce of clarified butter in a pan
  • Add Chorizo sausage and start rendering the fat
  • Add shallots, garlic and sauté
  • Add mussels to pan and toss around
  • Add wine, butter, and Cajun seasoning, reduce into a sauce
  • Make sure all the mussels have opened before serving
  • Garnish with parsley, lemon and grilled bread
